The 2600 Pro does have two dual-link DVI outputs a single HDTV output. Because the GPU is running much slower, the heatsink doesn’t need to be as large though I was disappointed to hear the fan was louder on the Pro model than on the XT though not overly loud. This seems like a giant step backwards in my mind towards the old days of master/slave CrossFire cards.Īs I mentioned above, this is a very different fan and heatsink than was on the 2600 XT.
AMD said it was to show the “flexibility of their design” but to me it just means more confusion in the market now we have to look for Radeon HD 2600 Pro “CrossFire edition” cards versus just having ALL cards support CrossFire. I was disappointed to not see CrossFire connectors on the 2600 Pro card even though AMD later told me that some would be available with them. The board itself is also a very different design: it is shorter, uses a smaller (but louder) fan and does NOT have CrossFire connectors on it. The Radeon HD 2600 Pro has the same architecture design as the 2600 XT on the previous page, but with slightly lower clocks speeds and a different memory configuration.

I'm a noobie when it comes to understanding this stuff, and i worry i bought a card that isnt compatible with my system, good thing i paid extra for the free return, and company paid return shipping (just incase).Īlso i went to add/remove programs and removed anything ATI/AMD and tried to put the card back in and restarted the computer with no drivers, and it does the same thing.! argggg
i went ahead and installed the catalist control center, hoping to find away around it, i have of coarse removed all previous video and audio drivers, if i remove the new video card the problem goes away, but then i dont have the video card working.

i have tried installing that UAA driver by itself, and it goes through the loading process and it says its finished installing and when i restart the pc it still locks up. i have tried emailing their tech support, and no response. the only way out of it is to again turn off the pc. opened it back up and in the bottom right of the screen it has the windows pop up "found new hardware" tabs, and unerthat in the same tab it said "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio" and it freezes up and locks the pc tight as can be. I waited 30 mins and still nothing, so i turned off the pc. it would even Ctrl/Alt/Del, or Windows key out of it. I installed the card, ran the driver from disk, and it locked up half way through.
